A friend of mine bought it for her son and daughter-in-law for their anniversary. She went with me to Me & Mrs Jones to pick out the perfect Annie Sloan color and she said they wanted Emperor's Silk. I looked at the color and thought it was a little crazy. Very pretty but very bright. I'm just the painter here though.
I started on it Friday night after work and painted the first coat. Saturday morning I woke up and put a second coat on it. Saturday afternoon, I waxed it with clear wax, distressed it and waxed it with dark wax.
Now all I have to say is WOW! That bright red sure does look gorgeous with some dark wax. I can't get over it but I'm not sure why I would think any Annie Sloan color wouldn't be just perfect.
The drawers have a little extra something in them too. Nothing too fancy, but I wanted to do something different in them. If they are anything like drawers in this house, they'll be cram packed full of stuff and you'll never see the design anyway. I can't wait to hear what they think about it. I hope they love it as much as I do.
I think red was a stunning color choice! Nicely done!
