Living Room Accent Wall

Our living room started out as a very large empty space with high walls and a very high ceiling. It's coming together, slowly but surely. We have been in this house for 8 months now and it still just feels like a few weeks. We aren't sure what color we are going to paint the living room yet. However, we painted the dining room a light blue color after we moved in. I know that not many colors go well with this shade of blue. So to help solve this painting dilemma, we painted one wall dark brown tonight. The color is called Revival Mahogany. We painted the wall in the living room on the other side of the dining room, so it is next to the blue color. I figured every color that we will choose from will go well with brown. So the brown is really there as a "go between" color between the blue and whatever other color. Turns out, we love this dark brown so we might just paint the entire living room dark brown. It doesn't photograph very well....okay I just can't get a good picture of it because I don't know how. Here are a couple of shots that I got tonight.
One other note regarding buying paint: do yourself a favor and always buy the Behr Premium Plus paint with primer. It will save you a ton of time and money too in the end.

  1. I love it and it goes great with the blue. Can't wait to see the rest of the room.
