The Joneses Are Back

Wow! What a great vacation! I love going on vacation. My mom and I flew to Savannah Saturday morning and rented a car from there and drove to Fripp Island, SC. My dad, Graham and Peyton drove straight through, and left our house at 2am. Funny enough, we got to the house 10 minutes before them. We stopped for groceries on the way and they were speeding and got pulled over by the police. Luckily, Graham told the police officer that he was also a police officer and he let them go with just a warning. We were singing that man's praises the entire week. We relaxed, fed the deer, went swimming in the pools, the ocean, laid on the beach, watched the alligators (from a safe distance of course), collected seashells, drove to Savannah, ate at Lady & Son's, went to Tybee Island, climbed the lighthouse (okay, I didn't make it very far up and had to go back down), went to Bonaventure Cemetery, went to Beaufort, ate at some great restaurants, took some pictures to remember everything and just had a great family vacation.
Thursday night while we were sleeping, our air conditioner went out in the house we were renting. We noticed that we were all burning up and not feeling well when we woke up, but it didn't occur to us that the air went out. We didn't notice it until around 10:45am. My parents made some phone calls so we had to sit around all day waiting on the AC guy to come over and take a look at it. Then, he found out that it was the compressor. So we had to pack up very quickly and go to another house on the island. We weren't thrilled about this at all. We were all starving and finally got to go eat dinner around 7:30 that evening. So Saturday morning we loaded up and headed back to Memphis. We had a great trip and are glad that we all made it home safe and sound. Now the countdown is on for next year's vacation. Only 360 more days. WooHoo!!

  1. Oh my goodness your little guy is a cutie and this trip looks like sooo much fun! I've never been to Savannah, but you've convinced me to add it to my list of dream places to go! :)
